James has extensive knowledge of the agricultural sector having grown up on his family’s Sheep and
Beef farm in Tikokino, Central Hawke’s Bay, which he now manages alongside his wife Kate and his
family. His passion for the rural sector continuously developed over the years and he has gained
qualifications and experience to evidence this.

With a strong desire for success – for himself, his community and his customers – James is driven in
everything he does. His natural strength in communication and ability to build genuine trust has
seen him develop a significant network of rural contacts locally and throughout New Zealand.
James has a Diploma in Agriculture from Massey University and is actively involved in the community
with various coaching and governance commitments as well as enjoying a range of other outdoor
pursuits. As well as farming, he is also passionate about flying and successfully gained his Private
Pilot’s License in 2018.
